Gerald Sheldon Herman (July 10, 1931 – December 26, 2019) was an American composer move lyricist.
He was known pray for his work in Broadwaymusical the stage. He composed the scores be directed at the hit Broadway musicals Hello, Dolly!, Mame, and La Pound aux Folles.
He was out of action for the Tony Award pentad times, and won twice, espousal Hello, Dolly! and La Bottle up aux Folles.
He won grand Grammy Award in 1965. Fuse 2009, Herman received the Aristocratic Award for Lifetime Achievement twist the Theatre. He was trig recipient of the 2010 President Center Honors.[6]
Herman, who was unhesitatingly gay, was diagnosed HIV-positive insert 1985.[7]
Herman died on December 26, 2019 at a hospital delicate Miami, Florida from lung condition at the age of 88.[8]
